Polaris Acquisitions Workshop



Polaris Acquisitions: What you might have missed in 3.2 and what is new in 3.3

When: Thursday November 15th 2007;  9 am to noon
Location: SALS meeting room

This is going to be an informal workshop to discuss Polaris acquisitions.  Topics will include Funds, Templates, Selection lists, Purchase Orders and Invoices.

All SALS members are welcome to attend to learn more about how other SALS’ libraries are using Polaris to select, order & manage their materials.

This is not a hands on workshop, but you are welcome to bring a laptop to follow along.

News from the New York Council for the Humanities

The New York Council for the Humanities has updated its grant guidelines and application forms for both Mini Grants ($2500 and below) and Major Grants (over $2500). These new materials should be used for all future applications to the Council and are available on our website at www.nyhumanities.org/grants

Grant Deadlines and Eligibility: Our next Major Grant deadline is November 1st, 2007; Mini Grants are accepted on a rolling basis. Council grants are available to any New York State non-profit organization to support public programs in the humanities, and can be used for a wide range of projects.
