Postponed: December 13 meeting at Crandall Public Library

Due to a very busy meeting schedule, the December 13 meeting is cancelled.  We expect to reschedule this meeting early in 2007.  Watch for a new announcement.

Topic:  Central Library Plan of Service and Resources for Libraries

  • Interlibrary loan:  What to do when an item is not available from MVLS/SALS libraries
  • Discussion of Crandall’s services during their renovation project
  • Request for volunteers to be on the Central Library Collection Development Committee
  • Demonstration of the Heritage Quest genealogy database

Featured activity:  Bring a copy of your favorite tried and true holiday recipe (it could be a cookie recipe); Crandall will copy them and share.

Technical Services: Where we are and where we are going

I am very pleased with the progress the department has made in getting your materials out the door in a timely fashion.   There are more items entering the building this time of year due to publishers releasing more titles and fiscal years ending.  Even with increased volume we are working to get materials on your shelves within 5 working days.

For important details of the current status of technical services and our plans to continue to improve these services please continue reading.Continue reading
