Community Forum on Heroin at Saratoga Springs Public

This will be the first in a series of local forums being held across New York State to provide community members the opportunity to share personal experiences in dealing with alcohol and drug addiction, loss of a family member or friend, as well as recovery from addiction.

The Listening Forums will engage the community in discussion with local leaders and result in a report titled “The State of Addiction Recovery in New York” to better inform the public and policy makers.
Want to share your story?  Speaker’s remarks will be limited to 3 minutes in order to allow as many people as possible to speak.

This event is being held at Saratoga Springs Public Library in the 1st floor Community Room.

Poetry Slam to benefit the Richards Library

There will be a Poetry Slam to benefit the Richards Library in Warrensburg on April 29th at 6 PM at The Lodge on Echo Lake, 175 Hudson Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885– Sponsored by The Lotus Group.  Please spread the word!

About the Slam: Contestants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis; 10 participants will be entered in each of the three age groups (6-11, 12-17, 18+) and will recite their poetry for the audience and a panel of judges.  Contestants will compete for the chance to win a Google Chromebook, a Kindle, or a Barnes & Noble gift card.  Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and $5 if competing.  All proceeds will go toward improving the Children’s Room at the Richards Library.
