Description: US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is the US Government branch of the Department of Homeland Security responsible for providing immigration services and benefits. A USCIS community relations officer will offer suggestions about how to refer library patrons who may need immigration information or services to qualified immigration service providers. He will also cover avoiding the pervasive immigration scams that regularly victimize immigrants.

  3. Differentiate between the leadership and the management of an organization
  4. Identify resources and determine best practices

This half-day presentation with guest speaker Howard Besser will explore the challenges of planning and implementing audio digitization projects, including selection, legal issues with duplication and broadcast, and understanding standards and best practices. Dr. Besser is Director of the Moving Image Archiving and Preservation masters degree program (MIAP) at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
