April is Autism Awareness Month

Get involved and spread awareness about autism at your library by planning a Sensory Storytime or programming to engage autistic children and their families.  Autism Spectrum Disorders affect one in 88 children in America according to the Autism Society; so, it is important to recognize their needs and reach out to the autistic in your community to show them that the library can be a safe place to have fun and learn.  Be sure to check out Libraries and Autism We’re Connected for a wealth of information on serving autistic individuals and their families.
