NY Heritage to Join DPLA

The Digital Public Library of America announced the addition of three new Service Hubs on October 24, 2013 at a reception celebrating the April 2013 launch of the DPLA and the start of DPLAfest, a two-day series of events free and open to the public taking place in Boston on October 24-25, 2013.

The three new Service Hubs – Empire State Digital Network (New York), The Portal to Texas History (Texas), and the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center (North Carolina) – will bring hundreds of thousands of new digital materials into the DPLA collections in the weeks and months following the DPLAfest festivities.

Kapco Book Repair Workshop

SALS will be hosting Kary from Kapco for a book repair workshop.   Space is limited to 25 people.

The first 25 to RSVP are in, I will then keep a waiting list.

This is a hands on program, so everyone will need to bring books that need repair.
