Overdrive has fixed the compatibility issue with the latest Apple iOS upgrade.
You can update your OverDrive Media Console at http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc, the issue should be resolved. Once you have transferred a WMA Audiobook to your device, a playlist will be created for the Audiobook. Please note that WMA Audiobooks will no longer be listed in ‘Audiobooks’ on your iOS5 device
Apple recently released a new upgrade for the operating system that runs on their mobile devices (iOS 5). This upgrade breaks compatibility with the OverDrive software on Windows computers. If any patrons have problems with their devices and request assistance with an Apple device and errors they’re receiving – this may be the cause.
OverDrive is aware of the problem and are working to fix it, but until an update for their software is available there are currently no solutions.
Apple mobile device users that simply use the OverDrive app downloaded from the iTunes app store should not experience any problems.
New York State, as part of “Summer Reading at New York Libraries,” is very pleased to be participating in this competition and hopes that all libraries and library systems will encourage teens in their communities to create an entry.
NYS Entry Form and a small poster (8 1/2″ X 11″) can be printed out for distribution and posting in all libraries.
Teens are directed to submit entry forms to their local library by March 5, 2012.
