OverDrive and updated Apple devices iOS 5/iTunes 10.5

Apple recently released a new upgrade for the operating system that runs on their mobile devices (iOS 5). This upgrade breaks compatibility with the OverDrive software on Windows computers. If any patrons have problems with their devices and request assistance with an Apple device and errors they’re receiving – this may be the cause.

OverDrive is aware of the problem and are working to fix it, but until an update for their software is available there are currently no solutions.

Apple mobile device users that simply use the OverDrive app downloaded from the iTunes app store should not experience any problems.

2012 Teen Video Challenge – Own the Night

New York State, as part of “Summer Reading at New York Libraries,” is very pleased to be participating in this competition and hopes that all libraries and library systems will encourage teens in their communities to create an entry.

NYS Entry Form and a small poster (8 1/2″ X 11″)  can be printed out for distribution and posting in all libraries.

Teens are directed to submit entry forms to their local library by March 5, 2012.

All information and entry forms for the New York State 2012 competition will be available shortly on the “Summer Reading at New York Libraries” website.

How do you deal with parents who don’t pay attention during family story time?…)
