Helping Libraries Plan for Programs using the Performers and Programs Database Online

Is your library looking for interesting and educational performers and presenters as you jumpstart your planning for Summer Reading 2025 and Color Our World? This session will provide an overview of the searchable Performers and Programs database. Performers and Programs is an online resource provided by the NY State Library that brings together information from over 300 program presenters in a searchable database.  Performers can sign up to create a free account listing their relevant information about program content and categories, audience level, and price range, along with their contact information and whether they offer programs in person and/or virtually. Libraries can utilize the online resource to locate performers in their region or throughout the state. The Performers database contains listings of a wide range of several hundred youth-focused performers and presenters, and can be a valuable tool for library program planning for Summer Reading or year round.

The session will be presented by Peter Kowalski, who is the database administrator for the site.  There will be time for questions at the end of the session.
