Collaborative Social Media Marketing

Marketing initiatives involving social media and local media outlets can greatly increase awareness of both library Friends groups and the libraries they support.  Strategic campaigns and social media buzz will keep your message popping up in all the right places!

In this webinar, the presenters will walk participants through best practices for building consistent, effective messaging across social media platforms and local media outlets. You'll learn how to plan and execute campaigns that keep your organization top-of-mind — and top-of-feed — for the audiences that matter most.

Topics will include:

  • Strategic planning for social media posts, press outreach, and promotional campaigns
  • Tailoring your message for different goals — whether fundraising, advocacy, or literacy initiatives
  • Coordinating communications between your Friends group and the library for maximum impact
  • Re-energizing membership, engaging volunteers, retaining donors, and attracting new library patrons

This program is an adaptation of a session that was presented at the 2025 New York Library Association conference.
