Sarah J. Hinman joins SALS staff

The Southern Adirondack Library System’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Sarah J. Hinman has accepted the position of Librarian II.   Her primary responsibilities include developing and delivering system-wide technology training designed to help library staff provide cutting-edge public library service.   She will begin work on October 16, 2006.

Sarah joins SALS with over six years of professional experience.  Her most recent employment was at the Albany Public Library (Delaware Branch) where she was Branch Librarian.   Some of Sarah’s accomplishments included outreach to the community to promote library services and initiatives, library services to adults and youth, planning and conducting various programs including computer classes and activities for children.

Previous work experience included Program Manager with Microsoft in Redmond, WA. 

Sarah’s unique combination of public service experience, training and technology background blend and support the SALS 2007-2011 Plan of Service.

Astound your users with your Readers’ Advisory skills!

Mike James from EBSCO Information Services will review all features of NOVELIST, the SALS/MVLS Readers’ Advisory database that is integrated into the POLARIS public access catalog.  No preregistration is required.  The workshop will be held at SALS on Tuesday, October 24 from 1:30 to 3:30.
