A Conversation with Teens, Parents, Teachers and Caregivers – Rape or Regret?

On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 6 PM, there will be a free showing of the video “Rape or Regret? A Jury’s Dilemma” at the Saratoga Film Forum, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs. This viewing, facilitated by staff from Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services, is part of the 2014 “Humanitarian Games” program developed by Youth2, which launched on April 1st. During the Games, participating area youth will travel from non-profit to non-profit completing community service requirements.

New High School Equivalency Test Information Available Online

New York State has a new High School Equivalency Exam called TASC — Test Assessing Secondary Completion. The GED (R) is no longer administered in New York State.

Test information and a brochure in both English and Spanish are available online.  The brochure explains the test and the five subject areas it covers, and where to get more information.

Celebrate Screen Free Week, May 5-11

for-web_smallerScreen-Free Week (SFW) is an annual, international celebration when child care, schools, families and community groups pledge to spend seven days without entertainment on a screen (TV, Handhelds, Computers)  This is an opportunity to rediscover the joys of life beyond the screen; an opportunity for libraries to fill the gap during these 7 days.
