Ask Us 24/7 session June 26 – Save the Date

Has your library considered using Ask Us 24/7 virtual chat?  Ask Us 24/7 is a service that connects people with reference librarians 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

The service is managed through the Western New York Library Resources Council, and several libraries in the CDLC region have been participating.  The best news?  Basic costs to participate are still covered by CDLC through Regional Bibliographic Data Bases funding.

Want to know more?

Carrie Buff, Public Services Librarian at SCCC is an experienced and enthusiastic Ask Us 24/7 user.  She’ll be doing a program about the service on June 26 at 9:30 at the CDLC offices.   Don’t miss this chance to find out how the service works and how your library could benefit!

Mark your calendars now and watch for more details to come next month!

Do you borrow e-books from your local public library?

The Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, a non-profit research organization in Washington, DC, is conducting an online survey of public library patrons who borrow e-books. If you have checked out or downloaded e-books from a public library, please consider taking Pew Internet’s survey, available at the link below. All responses will be confidential, although your answers may be quoted anonymously in a future report.  The survey should take about 15 minutes.
