An Exploration of Space, Drones & Other Cool Stuff, a LJ Webcast

During this presentation Dr. Chris Marker will discuss hot topics in science, engineering and technology, specifically:

Dr. Marker will also demonstrate how the Inspec database drives research and innovation through its depth and breadth of content and ease of access. He will show how, through careful selection and categorization of relevant information, Inspec allows researchers to drill down and retrieve specific information quickly and efficiently; plus showcase why the Inspec database has been the research tool of choice of the world’s leading universities, companies and government agencies.

Dr. Christopher Marker – Inspec Indexed Content Specialist
Particle physicist Dr. Chris Marker is a key member of the Inspec core indexing team at the prestigious Institution of Engineering and Technology (the IET). In this role he aids in scouring the world’s most innovative scientific literature and carefully selects new content to be indexed within the content rich, world renowned Inspec database. Dr. Marker’s work has a specialized focus on the astrophysics and geophysics areas of the database for which he has been a subject specialist for over nine years.
Dr. Marker holds a PhD in Particle Physics from Royal Holloway College, University of London, and an MPhys from Bath University. Whilst completing his PhD, he spent a year working on the highly successful BaBar experiment at Stanford University’s SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in California. Prior to this he worked on the Titania laser system on placement at Rutherford Appleton Laboratories. He is also a qualified instructor.

Sarah Frantz Lyons – Editorial Director, Riptide Publishing
Sarah Frantz is Editoral Director at Riptide Publishing. Before joining Riptide, she was a tenured professor of English literature at Fayetteville State University and reviewed m/m and BDSM romance for the popular review site Dear Author. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, edited two academic anthologies, is founder and past president of the International Association for the Study of Popular Romance, and has published academic articles on Jane Austen, J.R. Ward, Suzanne Brockmann, Joey W. Hill, and popular romance fiction.
