Web Accessibility: Three Things You Can Do Right Now Online
What makes the web accessible? During this session, we’ll build awareness around web accessibility and work through practical tips for creating everyday digital content that is accessible to all users. These tips are for anyone who sends email, creates documents, or maintains online content—no specific technical expertise is required.
This session is part of our yearlong Room for Everyone series of programs supporting library accessibility. To view all the programs in this series, please view the Accessibility programs on our event calendar.
This public program is made possible by federal Library Service and Technology Act funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which enable the New York State Library to champion lifelong learning.
Sarah McFadden is a Senior Librarian in the NYS Library’s Digital Services Unit, where she works to support accessible content creation for the Library’s website and other online platforms. Ms. McFadden has also worked as a Digital Literacy Resource Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County, and as a Reference Librarian at Schenectady County Community College. She has a BFA in Writing from Emerson College, an M.S.I.S. from the University at Albany, and a New York State Public Librarian Certificate.
