This free workshop will focus on finding and evaluating funding opportunities as well as the basic skills and knowledge necessary to develop effective, professional proposals. Among other topics, participants will learn how to approach grantmakers, how to structure a grant proposal, and how to prepare and submit an application. Mr. Belcher will also place grant writing in the broader context of fundraising and connect it to other, more familiar narrative forms. Participants will leave with a basic understanding of the process and how they can begin to secure funding for their organization and/or project. Bill Belcher is the Director of Development at MASS MoCA. He has secured over $25 million in grants and sponsorships for not-for-profit organizations, including MASS MoCA, The Sage Colleges, and The Hyde Collection. He is also a writer and teacher. His debut novel is forthcoming from Other Press.
The Greenwich Free Library is located at 148 Main Street in Greenwich, NY.
