Performers and Programs Database

10/22/2021 @ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Please join us for a FREE webinar on Friday, October 22 to learn all about the Performers and Programs database at   This resource can be a very effective tool to assist with planning Summer Reading programs and other activities for the coming year!

Did you know there is a statewide resource provided by the New York State Library that lists over 400 different performers and presenters who offer over 1,700 in-person and virtual programs for library and school settings? These programs are specifically aimed at youth and students for activities like Summer Reading, literacy and education programs, and year-round reading and learning programs and activities.

The New York State Performers and Programs database is a searchable online resource that lists performer and program related information in a huge variety of categories.  The resource features educational and entertaining programs along with presenter contact information, making it easy to find just the right program for your library or other educational organization or venue.  All listings provide descriptions and pricing, as well as presenter contact information and links to their social media platforms so you can check out their offerings for yourself.  Program presenters create an account in the database and update and maintain their own information, but all listings have been vetted by the local Regional Coordinator before being added to the database.

And the Performers and Programs database is not limited to just those who reside in or present programs in NY state.  A virtual category was added to the database in 2020, so now presenters from around the country can list their virtual offerings along with in-person programs.  This means that libraries and schools have an even wider range of programs to choose from.

Attendees will learn how to navigate and effectively search the Performers and Programs database, as well as how to promote the resource to performers and presenters in their region or community.  The webinar will be delivered by Peter Kowalski, database manager for Performers and Programs, with an introduction by Sharon Phillips, Youth Services Program Manager for the New York State Library. There will be time for questions and the webinar will be recorded.

We hope you can join us!
