Join us for a performers’ showcase, summer reading update, hands on youth programming roundtables, and featured speaker, Linda Braun, author of Teens, Technology, and Literacy; Or Why Bad Grammar Isn’t Always Bad.

9:30-9:45 Arrival and coffee/tea

9:45-10:30

  • Get moving with Jennifer Stanley: Let’s dance in the library
  • Get Ready for Summer Reading
  • Small Group brainstorming: Bring ideas to share about local partners for programs—community groups, science teachers, businesses, etc; regional bug (nature) resources; craft resources; free and low-cost programs
  • 10:30-12:00 Breakout Sessions: Youth Programs that work

  • Hands-on local history for grades 4 and 5: Todd DeGarmo and Erica Burke
  • Gaming in the library: Julie Martin and Sara Kipp
  • Teen reading volunteers: Laura Clark, Frieda Toth, and Joan Weiskotten
  • 12:00-12:30 Break and pick up your lunch

    12:30-2:00 Luncheon speaker Linda Braun, “Get with the Program: Using Technology in Library Programs for Youth”

    2:00-3:00 Performer Showcase:

  • Mark Wade, Ventriloquist
